The Cold War At Home by John T. Simpson.

The news is really unbelievable these days. All that I once thought were core American values and traditions are now being washed away in a sea of propaganda and political attacks from the radical Left, which now rules supreme and knows it. The Left in power is now waging an ideological war not only against conservatives, but any dissenting Americans who get in their way. Worst of all, they are using the full machinery of the government and their Lefty media lapdogs to do it all, and in the same fashion as Ahmadinejad’s government is demonizing the Green protesters in Iran.

It is chilling to witness, in the United States of America of all places. Civil political discourse is a thing of the past. You cannot oppose ObamaCare without being a swastika-waving corporate Nazi stooge. Never mind the fact that no one will tell us exactly where all the hospitals, doctors, and nurses to treat 50 million new patients will magically materialize from, or how it will all be paid for.

Likewise, you cannot oppose the draconian Cap-and-Tax bill without being a Global Warming heretic on the order of a Holocaust denier. Never mind the frost and record summer lows in my home state of New Hampshire or record cold temperatures worldwide. And you can’t oppose any of President Obama’s policies without being a racist. In short, every political issue these days is being taken far too personally by the petty tyrants of the Left, and made into ideological battlefields against any and all American citizens who stand in the way.

(Via Instapundit) Erik Voorhees on The Record of the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve System is fraudulent. Whatever its stated purpose, its effect is to create a hidden mechanism of deficit spending by politicians, through the insidious invisible taxation of monetary debasement (inflation). With printed money, the Government can buy services for its voters before the effects of inflation are felt. The voters money buys less the following year, as the new money has raised prices, and they are often none the wiser.

Obama is now mandating that the Fed is to have more oversight, more authority and control over the markets of the United States. If we can learn anything from the Fed, it’s that the best way to succeed as a politician is to stretch one’s failure over a long enough period that people won’t remember it.

The money quote (pun intended).

In other words, the value of the dollar remained extremely stable for 150 years, the Fed was created in order to “stabilize the value of the dollar,” and the result has been a 95% devaluation of the dollar in less than 100 years following its creation.

Unbelievable. Obama’s Website implies that “Critics of Obamacare Are Heirs of Bin Laden.”

RECLAIM OUR LAND FROM THE HEIRS OF, YES: BIN LADEN

All 50 States are coordinating in this – as we fight back against our own Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists who are subverting the American Democratic Process, whipped to a frenzy by their Fox Propaganda Network ceaselessly re-seizing power for their treacherous leaders.

Jocelyne Cesari, Director of the Islam in the West Program at the Harvard Divinity School, writes a negative review of Christopher Caldwell’s book, Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam, and the West.

Despite this polished façade, Caldwell’s book is nothing more than a patchwork of clichés and stereotypes about Islam and Muslims; exploiting the fear of, and insecurity about, Islam.

Who knew that Jesus would return to Russia?

The beard and long hair are both present and correct.

And with his flowing linen robes and beatific smile he certainly does a fine impression of a holy man.

But to his believers in this remote corner of Siberia, Sergei Torop, a former traffic policeman, is the literal reincarnation of none other than Jesus Christ.

Bay Area newspapers are providing an online database of public employee salaries, and includes this note from the editor.

Today, we are launching a searchable online database with the salaries of more than 134,000 public employees — people paid with taxpayer money. The database is the result of work done by more than two dozen Bay Area News Group reporters around the region. Although we include 64 governmental entities, we plan to continuously update the database as we obtain more salary information. Providing this type of information supports our belief that government transparency is vital to democracy. Indeed, the Contra Costa Times filed a lawsuit in 2004 based on this belief. In a state Supreme Court case decided in our favor in 2007, 11 judges agreed. The result is one of the most comprehensive local government salary databases ever compiled in California.
